How to Use Claude as Your Operations System (the Founder OS)
Most founders use AI in scattered chats. They get a good answer, close the tab, and lose it. The next week they re-explain their business from scratch. That's not an operations system, that's a slot machine.
The founders getting real leverage do something different: they turn Claude into the operating system of the business. One source of truth, repeatable workflows, and agents that handle the busywork. We call it the Founder OS. Here's how to build a basic version yourself.
The idea in one line
Stop prompting from zero. Give Claude a permanent brain about your business, then run repeatable jobs against it.
Step 1: Write your CLAUDE.md brain
The single highest-leverage move is a short document that tells Claude who you are, what you sell, and how you work. Drop it into your project so every chat starts with full context.
# Business brain
## Who we are
[Company], we help [audience] achieve [outcome].
## Offers
- [Offer 1]: [price], for [who], promises [result]
- [Offer 2]: ...
## Voice
We sound [3 adjectives]. We never [things to avoid].
## Current focus
This quarter we care about [1-2 goals]. Ignore everything that doesn't serve them.
## Rules
- Always [a rule, e.g. "give a recommendation, not options"]
- Never [a rule, e.g. "use corporate filler"]Now you never re-explain your business again. Every answer starts on-brand and on-context.
Step 2: Turn recurring work into named workflows
Anything you do more than twice a month should be a saved workflow, not a fresh prompt. Write each one as a clear instruction with a fixed output.
Workflow: weekly content
Input: my notes/ideas from this week [paste].
Output: 3 posts in our voice, each with a hook, body, and CTA, ready to schedule. Flag the strongest one and say why.Save these. Run them. The output gets more consistent because the instruction is consistent.
Step 3: Add agents for the busywork
Once you have a brain and workflows, point them at specific roles. Think of each as a teammate with one job:
- A research agent that scopes a market or competitor before you build.
- A reviewer agent that checks your copy against your voice rules.
- A chief-of-staff agent that turns a brain-dump into a ranked, revenue-first task list.
Each agent is just a role plus your CLAUDE.md context plus a clear deliverable. You're not building software, you're writing good instructions.
Step 4: Keep the brain alive
The system decays if the brain goes stale. Once a week, spend five minutes updating CLAUDE.md: new offers, new focus, what you learned. A living brain compounds. A dead one drifts.
What this gets you
- No cold starts. Every task begins with full context.
- Consistency. The same workflow produces the same quality, not lottery results.
- Leverage. The busywork runs while you do the work only you can do.
This is the starter version. The full Founder OS, with the configured agents, the workflows, and the automations wired together, is one of the systems we hand our members ready to import.
